What Type of Facilities and Community Programs are found in Cochrane?

There's always something fun going on throughout the Cochrane area. The city is full of great facilities for all types of events and things to do. There are some unique things about the community and plenty for everybody. Here are some of the facilities and programs you may discover throughout Cochrane.

Facilities

The recreational facilities found throughout the area include plenty of parks with ball diamonds, outdoor ice rinks and soccer fields. There are more than 20 parks with playgrounds, trout ponds and so much more. Residents also enjoy more than 30 kilometres of pathways used all four seasons.

Programs

One of the most popular community programs is PLAY Cochrane. This is a physical literacy program that has a goal of creating a more physically literate community. The goal is to get kids active and by doing so get adults active, too.

Another unique program of Cochrane is the Fun Van. This van provides all types of programming and spirit to the neighbourhoods of the town. It often appears at the Farmer’s Market, Canada Day, Summer Fest, Cochrane Ranche Days, Summerfest and neighbourhood playgrounds.

Many other programs provide recreation, arts and other hobbies to both adults and children throughout the Cochrane area. the community is quite active throughout all of the different seasons.
