Restaurant Spotlight: Mehtab East Indian Cuisine

Mehtab East Indian Cuisine serves up authentic Indian dishes that will have your taste buds soaring. They focus on giving their customers a true Indian experience with all the freshest ingredients. Located in downtown Cochrane, Alberta and only a short distance from Calgary. You will experience all the flavours included in well known Indian dishes.

If you have any type of food allergy, let the staff know and they will prepare your food accordingly. They are prepared to cater to those who have gluten, dairy or nut allergies. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff is helpful and friendly. The dining area is large, and can accommodate large groups.

They provide daily lunch specials, which are popular with those working in the area surrounding Mehtab. Lunch is served Sunday through Friday from 11am to 3pm, and dinner is offered from 3pm until 9pm.  The buffet is offered Sunday through Friday from 11am to 4pm, and A La Carte items are offered 7 days a week from 4pm to 9pm.

Take out and delivery is available, and you will want to try the special lunch takeout box that is available for $10.99.

Menu options include:

• Papadum – Roasted Indian crackers that are made from yellow lentil and rice and served with chutneys.
• Kachumber Salad – Cucumbers, bell peppers and carrots stewed in lemon juice and spices.
• Paneer Butter Masala – Indian cottage cheese cooked in tomato and butter gravy.
• Plank Paneer/ Aloo – Spinach and Indian  cottage cheese served with potatoes that contain spices.
• Zeera Aloo – Potatoes combined with dried cumin seeds, herbs and a variety of spices.
